Does anyone else here hate it when in comp arenas (or any other for that matter) when you find a R/W or Me/R, or even worse R/Mo, that just sits back with enchants like whirling defense, dryders stance, sheilds up, storm chaser, etc. and is almost completely invul to attack!!?? I seem to come across this the most with my ele. By the time i spend the 25 energy casting meteorshower and mind burn i realize my target isnt even takeing damage. as he/she just sits back and heals every1 else.

So is there a possible, easier, quicker was around all this?? I know of a few good hammer skills that do damage to ppl that block and evade often, but i never know when i will run into one.

Dryders is a great skill against elemental damage, but it can only be up for 12 seconds if i remember correctly, vs a 30 sec cooldown. In that time you should be able to do sufficient damage to him.

But... Why are you taking meteor shower into arena?

The only way for a person to keep up dryder's is to use oath shot. But these skills do nothing against skills such as osidian flame (however you spell it), Then deg skills, energy burning, smite damage, shadow damage are all easy ways to bypass dryder's, whirling, ect. Any of those will knock ppl like that pretty easily.

If you find someone who's put an inordinate amount of effort into defense, then they'll probably have a weak offense, so just ignore them and go beat on someone else. If they're a healer, they'll soon run out of juice.

yes. wild blow and irresitable blow are great to use. I am taking meteor shower into arena for those times when there are like 2 W/Mo gangin up on me or sum1 else. I do lots of damage while keepinmg them on the ground, interuptiung their heals

It's a good thing they're stupid and didn't bring attacks to interrupt your cast. Meteor Shower takes years to cast...

There's nothing wrong with being an 'Artful Dodger'.

I'll bring a healing / defensive build into the arena sometimes.. it usually works as well. And IMO its not n00bish, but a viable tactic. Use defensive stances whilst healing the party... its cool.

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about griefers in CA. It is simply a flaw of the mechanics of the arenas.

Second note: You should not be taking meteor shower into Arenas. No player is stupid enough to stand in it long enough to take the full damage and it takes forever to cast.

Personally I usually just finish off the rest of the team and once my team no longer needs me I hop to another match. Competitive Arena matches really don't count for anything and it really isn't worth wasting my time to chase down a runner or out wait a pure tanking build. You can't counter them because there are a massive number of variations that can be taken to grief and bringing counters for them all will pretty much destroy your build. Plus you can't fit snares as a monk or wild blow as an ele/me.

What I hate in CA is people who don't take Rez signets. That annoys me no end

Yes it is, but my secondary changes all the time, and no, with my ranger I don't just stand there and spam stances until the opposing team all leave. If I'm the only one on my team alive I'll let myself die, so quit thinking because I use a W/Mo I'm a n00b.

Because the job of a warrior in PvP is not healing, its damage, quite simply. Trying to be a monk and a warrior in one character just makes you terrible at both.

But not every W/Mo tries to do that. I dunno about everyone else but I only use monk secondary to farm with, and more often than not, W/N.

Most W/Mo's out there are quite n00bish in their skill choices and do try and heal but just because my char is a W/Mo doesn't necessarily mean I'm a n00b who tries to be both.

Trap the Whirling, dodging, storm chasing Ranger perhaps? Lets face it though, if he has all these skills on his bar, he isn't leaving much space for anything else. Concentrate on his team mates and gang up on him at the end.

Just watch out you dont flame and insult people that have used there sigs already and cant rez any more, happened to me once and i got pissed, and that after i rezed their little a****. o whatever .

QFT. Not going to be doing much damage, and the heals (or whatever) will be subpar. Non-factor, ignore until the end.
